I’m Vaibhav Kumar, a graduate of Birla Institute of Technology & Science (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, and currently a Team Lead at Mendix, a Siemens business. With 10+ years of experience in software engineering, I’ve worked across networking, cloud security, fintech, and platform engineering and I’m currently working on AI-driven projects alongside large-scale platform systems.

I’m deeply curious about how systems work beneath the surface and enjoy solving problems that demand both structure and creativity. I’m comfortable in high-pressure environments, value clear thinking under tight timelines, and aim to keep teams collaborative, open, and fun to work with. I welcome feedback, diverse perspectives, and believe good engineering is as much about people as it is about code.

My curiosity extends beyond software into psychology particularly how people think, behave, and are shaped by their environments. This interest led me to pursue a BA (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Delhi, driven by a desire to build more empathy and interact more thoughtfully with people.

Music is my creative counterbalance. Spanning classic rock, blues, and progressive sounds, I draw inspiration from artists like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, U2, The Police, B.B. King, Eric Clapton, John Mayer, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree, and Dream Theater. I play the guitar and drums, and music remains a constant source of balance, curiosity, and inspiration.
